2021 to be the Year of the Rail in Europe
IRJ reports that the 2021 Year of the Rail proposal was approved in October.
The proposal adopted by European Parliament Committee on Transport and Tourism (Tran) on October 12 says that as one of the most environmentally friendly and energy-efficient transport modes, rail must play a significant role in accelerating the reduction in transport emissions.
This will mean the launch of a series of events aimed at promoting rail, coinciding with the implementation of rules agreed in the Fourth Railway Package.
