Port of Moerdijk reported its throughput figures for 2020, offering a positive outlook for 2021. Losses due to the Corona Crisis were limited.
Total number of seagoing vessels was down 5.7% to 1951.
Total number of inland waterway vessels was up 5.2% at 11,544.
Total seaborne traffic was down 7.0% to 6,622,000 tonnes, whilst inland waterway traffic was up 5.0% to 9,955,000 tonnes. The number of containers handled increased by 17% to 691,131. Also the number of freight trains handled increased 0.7% to 2920.
