Total 2020 traffic in Zeebrugge was up 3% year on year.
RORO traffic was down for the year due to a significant drop in Q2. Volumes of new vehicles traffic declined 26 percent.
Container volume in the port of Zeebrugge grew 10.3 percent to a total of approx. 18 million tonnes (TEU: 1.8 million).
Liquid bulk volume grew 16.5 percent to a total volume of 12,617,088 tonnes, due especially to growth in the LNG sector.
Break bulk declined 29.2% in line with earlier trends (total volume: 634,613 tonnes).
Dry bulk grew 28.9% to a total of 1,710,125 tonnes, helped by infrastructure works requiring sand and gravel shipments. Also demand for basic foodstuffs grew.
