Modernisation of Kijfhoek
A contract to modernise the rail freight marshalling yard at Kijfhoek, near Port of Rotterdam has been awarded by Prorail to Siemens Mobility. Siemens is now working to renew the current hill system; both the electronic part (computers, sensors, etc.) and the mechanical components (rail brakes, printing system, etc.). Work will start in mid-2023 and will be completed by the end of 2024.
